ETERNAL STRUGGLE

ETERNAL STRUGGLE

ETERNAL STRUGGLE

In the room of the former tenant, deceased,
a new tenant enters.
NEW TENANT
My suitcase is full of dreams
and my strength is mighty!
This little room is wonderful for creating
for writing, for dreaming...
I will conquer this city
with the power of my gift and talent!
And glory will be mine,
and eternity will be mine!
I left my small village behind,
it is no longer for me.
All treasures, all hopes
this city still hides!
But I will discover all its secrets
I will write beautiful fairy tales!
For all the children of the world,
even though no one knows me yet
I have time ahead
for the whole world to meet me!
But, I'm off to the tavern, to drink wine
to find myself a companion,
to be in twos will always be, all nicer and sweeter!
And when I return to my new home
I will fill the empty paper with magic,
I will start building my career
walking only forward,
towards glory!
The new tenant leaves. Satan emerges from the darkness.
He looks at the suitcase full of papers, pens, and clothes.
SATAN
A new victim has arrived
and she is most welcome!
This time I am sure of victory
because such a confident fool
I have not yet met.
Time does its work,
and your enthusiasm won't last long!
Loneliness quickly takes its toll
and your fleeting dream disappears.
Trouble knocks on the door of this house,
hunger quickly empties the mind
and the soul punishes itself at times.
And hope slowly fades,
faith in the heart freezes.
Nights devour desires,
both shameful and bold!
The paper will be empty
and the pot crackles slowly.
A new soul falls, flying to me
the battle for her may begin!
Satan approaches the window, in fury tearing the curtain.
His black eyes look at the day fading away and
giving way to the night. Three butterflies land on the carpet
and blend with it.
