IN VAIN
I've never met anyone quite like her...
Magic, amidst the sea of ordinary...
All in all, simply magical...
Born for dreams, for eternal desires.
Yet she was completely silent...
Unaware of her own greatness...
Everything about her fit into two lines...
Like a brochure, for precious gemstones.
I pondered her long hair...
So dreamy, my days slipped away...
I never even considered another...
I melted for her like early frost.
A young heart knows no calm...
It rushes where desires lead it...
In spring, when the breeze closes in...
I sensed the scent of her hair everywhere.
I wrote her poems by the river...
At night, when the young moon shines...
How to overcome all obstacles to reach her...
Without being my own judge.
And the years passed like dreams...
I remained faithful to my dream...
I heard she was going to a new city...
I would be banished from my dream.
And indeed, she went somewhere...
In vain, I questioned people...
No one knew if she passed me by...
Tell me! Let it be what it will be!
She got married, I heard in autumn...
I fell ill because of her with the first snow...
Everything just shattered within me...
Pain pierced my heart like a vice.
Youth passed, life passed entirely...
What's the point now, in cursing fate...
I wait for a dove to land white...
Then slowly, to descend from the stage.
