DASH

DASH

I walk through the cemetery alley,
observing the tombstones.
There are various kinds,
larger and smaller,
narrow and wide,
tall as a pine,
with pictures and without.
Some with dedications,
just names,
surnames, and dates.
Sometimes the years are closer,
sometimes spanning two centuries.
Only the dash in between is the same,
representing life!
Whether it's short or long,
it doesn't matter...
The dash of life is the same.
Every life has a purpose and intention.
When everything is fulfilled,
the dash is written.
It signifies the entirety of a life.
